Supporting LGBT asylum seekers fleeing Chechnya
In April 2017, media reported that authorities in Chechnya were arresting and torturing gay and bisexual men. Over 30 were killed. These events sparked an exodus of people who felt at risk, with many seeking asylum within the European Union. The Friends of KPH made a $25k grant to Kampania Przeciw Homofobii (Poland), to provide legal and financial support to LGBT asylum seekers.
