Founded in 2008 by Magdi Yacoub, a world-renowned surgeon, the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation provides free, high-quality medical services to disadvantaged patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases in Egypt. Its Aswan Heart Center performs over 4,000 cardiac procedures annually. A $500,000 grant from its American Friends of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation will be used to provide life-saving surgeries to patients in need.
