$95,000 for agribusiness development in DR Congo

April 6, 2022

Mavuno, the Swahili word for harvest, is pioneering a model of grassroots business development in eastern DR Congo. Through training programs in sustainable agricultural techniques, Mavuno transforms local smallholder farmers into ‘agripreneurs’. Its American Friends Fund made a $95,000 grant to build the Mavuno Agriculture College, which will educate youth, prevent them from joining militias, and contribute to the development of the region.
