KBFUS spotlights some of its most creative partners from the African continent, in an effort to connect them with investors and philanthropists. We invite these African changemakers to join us for convenings and events hosted by key partner organizations.
Every other year, KBFUS also organizes a U.S. roadshow for the winner of the Africa Prize, an initiative of our Brussels-based parent foundation. The Africa Prize rewards outstanding contributions to development in Africa, initiated and led by Africans. It seeks to draw public attention to the many inspirational stories, challenges and successes emerging from the African continent.
The Prize is awarded every other year. In addition to a cash prize of 200,000 euro, winners have a unique opportunity to enhance their visibility and promote their aims among an international audience.
Recent winners of the Africa Prize include Wecyclers (Nigeria), BarefootLaw (Uganda), Farmerline (Ghana), Kytabu (Kenya), ADISCO (Burundi), Ms Bogaletch Gebre of KMG Ethiopia (Ethiopia), and Dr Denis Mukwege of Panzi Hospital (DR of Congo).
